The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee released an ad that ties Republican incumbent lawmakers to their party's presidential candidate, Donald Trump.
The one-minute video begins with a quote from the footage of Trump's lewd comments about women from 2005.
The video contains lawmakers expressing support for Trump, beginning with Nevada Rep. Joe Heck. "When Mr. Trump gets elected, as I hope he does, he's going to need partners," he said.
It ad also features Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, Arizona Sen. John McCain, Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson and Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey.
A clip of an interviewer asking Rep. Kelly Ayotte if she would recommend that a child "aspire" to be like Trump. "Absolutely, I would do that," she said.
Some of the lawmakers in the video have revised or retracted their support for the Republican candidate. Ayotte said she "misspoke" when she made that comment, and added, "Neither Donald Trump nor Hillary Clinton have set a good example, and I wouldn't hold up either of them as role models for my kids."
Toomey said he had not endorsed Donald Trump. "I have repeatedly spoken out against his flawed policies, and his outrageous comments, including his indefensible and appalling comments about women," he said, according to Philly.com.
Portman said he could no longer support Trump. "I will be voting for Mike Pence for president," he said. McCain said there were "no excuses" for Trump's comments.
Rubio did not mention whether his support for the candidate had changed, but he did condemn Trump's comments in a tweet.
