Democrat operative Stacey Abrams' claims of "voter suppression" should be taken "with a grain of salt" because voter turnout for minorities is steadily increasing, according to Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga.

"Stacey Abrams is just making claims," Collins told Sunday's "The Cats Roundtable" on WABC 770 AM-N.Y.

"This is the same woman who also claimed that we had voter suppression going on in Georgia, yet in the last four election cycles we've had nothing but increases in minority participation across the board in our elections."

Abrams is a failed gubernatorial candidate who contested and never conceded her loss to GOP Gov. Brian Kemp in 2018. Afterward, she has boasted of increasing voter registrations for Democrats and some have even alleged she might be a party to illegal ballot harvesting in Democrat-heavy communities, according to Sidney Powell on Newsmax TV's "The Count" on Saturday night.

"Taking what Stacey Abrams says with a grain of salt is probably the best thing for America to do," Collins told host John Catsimatidis.

Collins was running for one of the Jan. 5 Georgia Senate runoff seats, but he received just shy of 20% of the vote, leaving Sen. Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., to battle Rev. Raphael Warnock for one of the seats.

In the other runoff, Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga., just missed the 50% support needed to avoid a runoff against Democrat Jon Ossoff, who has lost high-profile elections in Georgia.
