Donald Trump thinks he can win New York in November despite several polls that say otherwise.
"Everybody was saying, 'Don't bother with New York because Republicans don't win New York.' I don't think that we're gonna be in that position," Trump told a crowd Wednesday at an event for the state's Conservative Party.
"I think we're gonna win New York, I think we're gonna do great in New York. Don't forget: Hillary, she's not a New Yorker."
The Washington Post obtained video of Trump's remarks.
The Republican presidential nominee went on to cite polls in Arkansas that say he's up 25 points over Democrat Hillary Clinton.
A recent Washington Post/Survey Monkey analysis showed that Clinton is likely to win New York. The state, which has 29 electoral votes on offer and whose voters have picked the Democrat in every presidential election since 1988, is favoring Clinton by a double-digit margin.
The Real Clear Politics average gives Clinton a 19.3-point lead in the Empire State.
