Donald Trump's campaign is lining up a slew of sports idols to appear at the Republican National Convention next month — including former world heavyweight champ Mike Tyson, ex-Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka, former Indiana University basketball coach Bobby Knight and NASCAR chief Brian France,
Bloomberg reports.
Talks are in the works with other celebrities and athletes, Bloomberg reports.
Trump has taken heat
for touting an endorsement from Tyson, who served three years in prison for rape in the 1990s.
The GOP presumptive nominee credits the endorsement from the chair-throwing Knight for his Indiana primary victory. Tyson and France have publicly backed Trump, and Ditka has voiced strong support for the presumptive Republican nominee, Bloomberg notes.
