A draft of Donald Trump's acceptance speech was leaked to a PAC supporting Democrat Hillary Clinton's election, Politico reports
Correct the Record, the group run by Clinton ally David Brock, told Politico he verified the document was real before releasing it. He said that although his group has planted moles in GOP organizations, the text of the speech was not obtained by one of them. He would not say who he got it from, but did say it came from "a Republican source who had access to it and they sent it to us."
Politico reported that it, too, had received a copy, along with other media and political operatives, but held off publishing without verification.
"We're going to maintain the sources we have and see what we can get," Brock said. "If I were them, I would be a little freaked, adding that the release shows the campaign is "loose and disorganized."
