President Donald Trump donated his second quarter salary to the Small Business Administration, the White House confirmed Wednesday.
During the daily White House press briefing, SBA Administrator Linda McMahon said her department received the check.
"I would like to thank the president for his generosity and for his support of the Small Business Administration. He clearly understands the value of small businesses," McMahon said.
McMahon, the wife of professional wrestling executive Vince McMahon, added that the money will go toward a new program the SBA is offering to veterans.
"We're gonna establish a seven-month, intensive training program called Emerging Leaders," she said. "It's an adaptation of that program for our veterans, helping them transition from military life into the private sector if they desire to start their own jobs and their own companies and be entrepreneurs."
Trump's annual salary as president is $400,000, and he donates each quarter's paycheck to a government cause. He sent his first quarter earnings of 2018 to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
