Donald Trump will be invited to meet Queen Elizabeth II in the summer of 2017 according to a report in the Daily Telegraph.

The invitation comes as Britain looks to strengthen ties with the U.S. following its exit from the European Union. Trump will not receive a formal invitation until he is inaugurated, and his visit should take place in mid-2017. The president-elect will likely stay in Windsor Castle.

Trump expressed interest in meeting with the Queen when he met with British politician Nigel Farage, and also told British Prime Minister Theresa May that his mom was a big fan of hers.

"He's looking forward to it," a member of Farage’s group told The Sunday Times. "He's a massive Anglophile. He was really, really keen. His late mother, Mary, loved the Queen. He said "I'm going to meet her, too.' I can't wait to come over to England. My mum would be chuffed to bits when I meet the Queen."

Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence have spoken with 29 world leaders since winning the election, according to a list released by his transition team. When speaking with May, he told her to pass along his best regards to the Queen per Royal Central. If invited, Trump will only be the sixth president to make a state visit during the Queen’s reign.
