Donald Trump on Tuesday told NFL Hall of Famer Jim Brown he would merge Brown's "Amer-I-Can" program with his administration after meeting with Brown and NFL superstar Ray Lewis about issues in the African American community.

"We talked about making America a better country. We talked about the poor people. We talked about African-American people. We talked about education, getting rid of violence, dealing with economic development realistically and how to work together," Brown told CNN's Brooke Baldwin.

"I don't know everything and I don't try to address everything but the reception I got today from him – I'll always remember that because he listened to us and he knows that we can bring something to him to help the people of this country."

Brown started his organization in 1988 to help stop violence and teach troubled people self-pride and personal responsibility, thus the name "I Can" in the title.

Trump also met with rapper Kanye West, former "Apprentice" star Omarosa Manigault and Pastor Darrell Scott on the topic of diversity.

"I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues," West tweeted. "These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago. I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change."
