Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are tied nationally in the latest
Rasmussen Reports survey, but nearly a quarter of the voters said they would stay home or vote third party if either was a major-party candidate.
Here are the results, released Friday, of the poll of 1,000 likely voters conducted on Monday and Tuesday:
- Trump: 38 percent
- Clinton: 38 percent
- Vote for another candidate: 16 percent.
- Stay home: 6 percent.
Among men:
- Trump: 41 percent.
- Clinton: 35 percent.
- Another candidate: 16 percent.
- Stay home: 5 percent.
Among women:
- Clinton: 41 percent.
- Trump: 35 percent.
- Another candidate: 15 percent.
- Stay home: 7 percent.
Among whites:
- Trump: 43 percent.
- Clinton: 34 percent.
- Another candidate: 15 percent.
- Stay home: 5 percent.
Among African Americans:
- Clinton: 57 percent.
- Trump: 18 percent.
- Another candidate: 15 percent.
- Stay home: 10 percent.
The margin of error in the Rasmussen poll is 3 percent.
