President Donald Trump has again claimed to have won the recent 2020 presidential election and that “voter fraud” occurred “all over the country,” in a tweet on Wednesday.
Trump was responding to a story in The New York Times stating that he “received 10.1 million more votes across the U.S. than he received four years ago, including in areas with a majority of Hispanic voters.”
He tweeted: “...AND I WON THE ELECTION. VOTER FRAUD ALL OVER THE COUNTRY!”
Twitter added a label to Trump’s tweet noting that “multiple sources called this election differently.”
The Times’ story notes that voter turnout was high for Trump and for Democrat candidate Joe Biden, who won 12.6 million more votes than 2016 Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, and that “both major parties gained millions more votes compared with 2016.”
