President-elect Donald Trump won't have to wait long before he can begin dismantling President Barack Obama's legacy, The Washington Times reports.

In his first few days in office, Trump could drop pending lawsuits from the Obama administration, thus removing the government mandate allowing transgender students to choose their bathrooms.

Trump could also revoke Obama's memo to Homeland Security that outlined his 2014 deportation policy, removing the amnesty of 5 million illegal immigrants, though it was already halted by a federal court. Advocacy groups have vowed to fight any attempt to remove the amnesty order.

"We will fight tirelessly alongside our partner organizations to protect DACA and ensure that immigrant youths are safe from deportation and that families aren't separated," said Cesar J. Blanco, head of the Latino Victory Fund, according to the Times.

The Environmental Protection Agency and the Army Corps of Engineers' rules restricting carbon emissions and water runoff from power plants could also be lost, something Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., told reporters should happen on "Day One."

Trump could also dismantle Obamacare on his first day by dropping "cost-sharing reductions."

"Changes in policy or presidents can result in substantial changes in the posture of litigation," Jonathan Turley, George Washington Law School professor, told the Times.

"That's a perfectly natural process, particularly when you have such a radical change in administrations. There's no reason why one administration should pursue a policy initiative in court that they now oppose."

"Much of President Obama's legacy stands on clay feet. The vast majority of his cited accomplishments were unilateral actions taken by executive authority," he added. "What a president giveth, a president can take away."
