Breaking down the prospective Democratic nominees, including the probable entrance of Hillary Clinton or potential bid by ex-Mayor Michael Bloomberg, political consultant Dick Morris said "there has to be somebody else."
"[Sen. Elizabeth] Warren is not going to waltz into this nomination unopposed," Morris told "The Cats Roundtable" on 970 AM-N.Y. "She's lucky that [Joe] Biden was taken out by the Ukraine scandal. And she's fortunate that [Bernie] Sanders was handicapped by the heart attack.
"But there has to be somebody else, because Warren will represent the majority of the Democratic Party that is crazy left. But there is a minority that is not so nuts that's going to say, 'We're not going to ride this woman to extinction.'"
Even Clinton will get in on the competition, Morris predicted to host John Catsimatidis.
"I think it's always possible that Hillary runs," he said. "There's a test you can do at home. Just put your fingers on the wrist, and if you feel a pulse, you know she's going to run."
Bloomberg is a bigger potential threat against President Donald Trump, but Democrats would never allow a former Republican to win their nomination.
"I think that Bloomberg's problem is he can't win a Democratic primary," Morris said. "I think he might be able to win in November , but I don't think the Democrats will ever choose him as their nominee because he used to be a Republican.
"And there a lot of policies he [supported] as mayor of New York, like stop and frisk and punishing minor crimes, that are very unpopular with the Democrats . . . He would do well in November, but I don't think he lives that long."
Without Hillary or Bloomberg, Warren is going to ultimately win the nomination, Morris said.
"Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, I think was very effective in the debate, And I would look on him to come on strong," he said. "I feel he could become the new moderate alternative to Elizabeth Warren.
"I think Warren will still win. And I still think Trump will still beat the daylights out of her. But this Democratic process isn't over yet."
