The Democratic National Convention is the destination for the well heeled who paid a lot of money to mingle and rub elbows with policymakers,
The Washington Free Beacon reports.
The treasure trove of leaked emails and docs last week revealed a veritable menu of perks — access — that the wealthiest donors would be able to enjoy this week in Philadelphia.
According to the Free Beacon:
- PACs that gave $30,000: "Business roundtables and industry panels throughout the Convention."
- PACs that gave $90,000: "Exclusive roundtable and campaign briefing with high-level Democratic officials."
- Individuals who gave $468,000 — or raised $1.25 million for the DNC — would get six tickets to the top convention package
The Free Beacon reported the different donor packages, how many had been sold, the machinations of trying to convince donors to give to the DNC vs. Hillary Clinton's campaign, etc.
The top donor package, called the Rittenhouse, required maximum contribution — nearly $234,000 — to three different accounts over the past two years.
Only one had been sold prior to the June 1 deadline, according to the Free Beacon.
