The Congressional Leadership Fund on Monday released an ad targeting Democrats running for Congress in Minnesota for not calling for Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., to abandon his campaign for state attorney general, The New York Times reports.
Ellison was accused of domestic abuse by a former girlfriend, Karen Monahan, who claims the deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee subjected her to "narcissist abuse," including verbal abuse and physically dragging her off of a bed. Ellison has denied the allegations.
Former state representative "Joe Radinovich is standing by Keith Ellison," says one ad aimed at the candidate for Minnesota's Eighth Congressional District. "Backing Ellison instead of believing his victim? Joe Radinovich should be ashamed."
Other Democratic candidates targeted in the ad campaign include Dean Phillips, Dan Feehan, and Angie Craig. None of the candidates responded to the Times' requests for comment.
