Former Vice President Joe Biden, who's acted coy when it comes to whether or not he'll run for president in 2020, already has the greatest support with Democrats among all of their party's potential candidates who have hinted an interest in running, the Washington Examiner reported Saturday.

Pollster Rasmussen Reports showed in a poll of likely Democratic voters, Biden has 37 percent backing, far surpassing the 2016 Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton at 14 percent and Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, 11 percent, both who have signaled an interest in another try at the presidency. Eighty-one percent of Democrats indicated they would support their party's nominee.

Biden also leads when voters of all parties are polled of the candidate most likely to beat President Donald Trump, with 25 percent preferring Biden, 12 percent for Sanders and nine percent for Clinton. Three lawmakers who are believed to have an eye on the 2020 race, Sens. Cory Booker of New Jersey, Kamala Harris of California and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, all came in at four percent each. Two percent favored former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe.

However, voters appear to be keeping an open mind to new faces in the lineup of Democratic candidates, as 25 percent indicated they would support someone else and 17 percent were undecided.

Forty-four percent of likely voters said they would be more inclined to vote for Trump now, following his announcement this week he would seek reelection in 2020.

The poll was conducted at the end of February and has a margin of error ± 3 percentage points.
