President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Thursday to rake the Democratic congressional leadership for being "weak on crime and border security."

The president blasted minority leaders Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Nancy Pelosi but said they'll be forced to do a "real deal" on the border wall, "so easy," problem solved.

It's unclear how the president thinks Schumer and Pelosi will be forced to do a deal or how it will be easy.

The president on Wednesday signed an executive order that at least temporarily halts the practice of separating migrant families trying to cross the border illegally.

But he pledged to remain tough on border security during a speech in Minnesota late Wednesday, and he addressed immigration in earlier Thursday tweets as well.

House Republicans are expected to vote Thursday night on two competing immigration bills, and both are expected to fail.
