Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy claimed President Donald Trump's "unpopular" and "hurtful" agenda could not win Senate approval, regardless of the filibuster rule.
Noting Republicans could not repeal the Affordable Care Act with a 50-vote rule, he suggested Trump push for a "20 or 25 vote threshold."
Murphy's comments were in response to Trump's latest attack on the filibuster rule, which requires 60 votes to bypass. The filibuster rule has been a frequent target of Trump's.
Trump has warned that future parts of his legislative agenda would need 60 votes to pass unless Senate Republicans acted to change the rule.
