President Donald Trump should "double down on diplomacy" and "tone back the testosterone" in dealing with the North Korea crisis, former Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James told MSNBC on Monday.
When asked what advice she would give the president on handling the situation, James said "I would tell him to tone down the bluster and the rhetoric from the top. And work with these new sanctions that we have both China and Russia on board to enforce. And ensure that the enforcement happens in an air-tight fashion."
James was secretary of the Air Force during the Obama administration.
Trump escalated the rhetoric against North Korea last with a series of statements, starting with a warning that the U.S. would unleash "fire and fury like the world has never seen" if North Korea continued its threats against the U.S. or it allies, Mediaite reported.
