Democratic billionaire Tom Steyer’s ads calling for President Donald Trump’s impeachment seem like more of a “vanity project than a call to action,” former top Obama adviser David Axelrod tweeted Saturday.

Steyer on Thursday said he was adding $10 million to his national TV ad campaign, “Need to Impeach,” and said he would fund two new ads as well. Steyer has already spent $20 million on the campaign. He responded to Axelrod on Twitter, saying 78 percent of Democratic primary voters support Trump’s impeachment.

“Trump is a clear & present danger,” he said in another tweet. “He has passed the impeachment standard. No fear.”

Trump has responded to the ad calling Steyer “wacky & totally unhinged” and commenting that he “never wins elections.”
