Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., on Sunday said voters have already delivered a mandate on the issue of a new Supreme Court justice bu expanding the GOP majority in the Senate in 2018.

In an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union,” the conservative senator called that sweeping win “about as clear a national referendum” as there could be.

“Just one month after the Justice [Brett] Kavanaugh confirmation in which Democrats threw everything but the kitchen sink at him [voters] didn't just re-elect a Republican majority — they expanded a Republican majority,” he said.

“In 2014 they helped put the brakes on the Obama agenda including his traditional  nominees,” Cotton added. “Now we are operating under the clear mandate we received in 2018. …. I don't think it could be any clearer than that.”

Cotton added that Democrats are “radical” on the issue of abortion, and said Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, if he would release his choices for the nation’s high court, would show that.

“Joe Biden ought to put his names [for] the Supreme Court out for the public to assess them,” he asserted. “I suspect he won't because it will reveal just how radical the Democrats have become on this question.”
