Kellyanne Conway: North Korea's Kim Faced With Key Decision

(Fox News' "Fox & Friends")

Kellyanne Conway, senior counselor to President Donald Trump, said North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is faced with making a key decision now that the Singapore summit has concluded.

"He can either continue to be nuclear capable or he can swiftly move towards, complete verifiable, irreversible denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and really stop the economic self-isolation that marked his country so long with the suffering of his people," she said during a Wednesday interview on Fox News' "Fox & Friends."

And Conway stressed Trump has made it quite clear what he expects from Kim.

"Look, this president, his moxie on the world stage cannot be overstated," she said. "Unlike the one-sided Iran deals, Cuba deals, where we gave up everything and got nothing in return, quite embarrassingly, this president has made clear that he is the one looking for Kim Jong Un to denuclearization and to stabilize.

"I don't think you can't underestimate what it means to have a leader who makes good on the commitment to keep everybody more safe."

And Conway maintained that despite some critics, people in the U.S. recognize what Trump has accomplished.

"They saw his leadership unfiltered on the world stage," she said.

And Conway cautioned people not to pay much attention to Trump's critics.

"Don't give too much credit to the critics frankly," she said. "Almost who cares? They're skeptical, they're cynical. "

And she took a shot at former President Barack Obama, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

"Look, the last president was handed the Nobel Peace Prize," she said. "This president will earn it."

Prior to the summit, former President Jimmy Carter, who is also a Nobel Prize winner, said Trump would be worthy of the award if the North Korean negotiations worked out, according to Politico.
