Presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway said she's been told there are rivers and mountains along the southern border that could prevent "an actual physical structure" from being constructed in some places.

A guest Wednesday night on CNN's "Cuomo Prime Time" with Chris Cuomo, Conway acknowledged that a border wall along Mexico will mean different things in different places.

"After conferring with the experts who are involved in this process, the president has discovered that part of it will be the physical wall, part of it is better technology, part of it is also fencing," Conway told Cuomo.

"There are rivers involved, I'm told. There are mountains involved. There's terrain that isn't conducive to building an actual physical structure in some places," Conway said of her geological epiphany.

Conway and Cuomo sparred about the effectiveness of even building a wall, with Cuomo noting the tunnels and plane drops that provide drug runners alternatives.

"The wall will help stop the flow of illicit drugs coming over our borders," Conway said. "This president wants to put up a wall, you and others want to put up a slip-n-slide."
