A conservative political action committee is calling for continued support of the Second Amendment in a new ad aimed at stopping attempts to pass gun control legislation.

The Great America PAC released the 60-second spot Wednesday, which features gun rights advocate Antonia Okafor. She called out "well-funded liberal groups" and the "biased media" in saying Americans' right to own firearms is being questioned.

"Liberals and left-wing media are calling for gun control, but even they know gun control is not the answer," Okafor said. "Bad guys will always find a way to do bad things. The only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy or girl with a gun."

The long-running gun control debate has taken on new life in the two weeks since a deadly high school shooting in Florida left 14 children and three adults dead.

Okafor asked viewers of the ad to call a phone number displayed on the screen and demand the Second Amendment be protected.

"Take a stand to protect your Second Amendment rights," she said.

The Great America PAC's latest ad followed one that was pushed out last week, which also called on gun rights activists to resist attempts at gun control.

President Donald Trump has met with several stakeholders in the gun control debate in the last week and a half. He held a meeting Wednesday that was open to the media with a bipartisan group of lawmakers to discuss solutions to the gun violence problem.
