A group of conservative activist leaders is calling on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to resign, The Hill reports.

Ken Cuccinelli, president of the Senate Conservatives Fund; Jenny Beth Martin, co-founder of Tea Party Patriots; Adam Brandon, president of FreedomWorks; Brent Bozell, chairman of ForAmerica; David Bozell, president of ForAmerica and Richard Viguerie, a political direct mail pioneer, cited the Senate's inability to pass much of President Donald Trump's legislative agenda, according to The Hill.

Their comments came in a letter to McDonnell dated Wednesday.

"2017 has been a disappointing year for the millions of Americans who fully expected, and had every right to expect real change in Washington," they said in the letter. "Republicans were given full control of the federal government. They — you — have done nothing."

"It is time for you and your leadership team to step aside, for new leadership that is committed to the promise made to the American people. America is too good for you to lead it," they wrote.

The Hill noted it is not the first time the conservative leaders have urged McConnell to quit.

The conservatives also criticized the Senate for not being in session this week, according to the Washington Examiner.

"You don't even show up for work," the letter said.
