Two conservative groups have sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch, McConnell, R-Ky., pushing a list of recommendations for Obamacare repeal, The Hill reported.
Americans for Prosperity and Freedom Partners are pressing for as much of Obamacare to be "repealed under reconciliation," the website noted. The procedure is described as a complex budget maneuver, which allows the GOP to gut Obamacare by only a simple majority vote.
The groups also want the GOP to dump Obamacare's Medicaid expansion and let states come up with their own Medicaid programs, the Hill noted.
"The American Health Care Act, recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives, takes some positive steps toward rolling back some of Obamacare's worst elements, but much more must be done to drive down costs, create more affordable options, and expand access to quality care for everyone — especially those most in need," the groups said in the letter, according to the Washington Examiner.
The groups also want the new bill to provide state block grants to aid those with pre-existing condition gain and maintain access to coverage, the website noted.
