Many conservative Christian political activists at the Freedom Coalition's Road to Majority Conference in Washington last week said they were satisfied with the work President Donald Trump has done so far, the Huffington Post reports.
"I am genuinely excited about what God is doing in America right now," Republican Rep. Barry Loudermilk said during his address to the conference on Saturday morning. He also said God heard the prayers of conservatives in November to set in motion a "refounding of our nation."
Trump spoke at the conference and told attendees "we're under siege."
"You understand that. But we will come out bigger and better and stronger than ever. You watch," Trump said the same day former FBI Director James Comey was testifying about him before the Senate Intelligence Committee. "You fought hard for me, and now I'm fighting hard for all of you."
Anti-abortion activist Mark Repke told HuffPost he's happy with Trump's judicial nominations and efforts to defund Planned Parenthood, even though he "wasn't my No.1 candidate."
"He wasn't in my top five," said Repke. "The reality is, he's 50 times better than Hillary Clinton."
