Congressional Leadership Fund, the super PAC that House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., backs, raised $51 million during the second fundraising quarter, the fund reported.

Their second quarter total is more than the group raised during the entire 2016 election cycle, and the group has raised more than $93 million in the 2018 cycle so far, the report said.

“Thanks to the leadership of Speaker Paul Ryan and Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., in Congress, CLF continues to break fundraising records… Our donors are united in making sure Nancy Pelosi does not become Speaker of the House," said Corry Bliss, the fund’s executive director, in a statement.

"CLF is committed to playing a major role in protecting the Republican majority this fall," Bliss said in the statement.

The fund has $71 million in cash on hand, the report said.

Republicans have a 23-seat advantage in the House of Representatives heading into the midterms, with 31 seats that Republicans hold being rated as toss-up, lean Democratic, or likely Democratic categories, the Cook Political Report said. https://www.cookpolitical.com/ratings/house-race-ratings
