The betting odds just went up that President Donald Trump won't finish his term after he fired FBI Director James Comey on Tuesday.
For that matter, at least one website is taking bets that Trump won't even finish out 2017 in the Oval Office, Politico reports.
According to PredictIt, bettors put Trump's odds at being in office on December 31 at 82 percent, down from 87 percent at close Tuesday, but up from 79 percent just after the news of Comey's firing broke.
In Ireland, the bookmaker Paddy Power said the odds that Trump will be impeached have gone up from 10/11 or 52 percent, to 4/6 or 60 percent.
"Paddy Power customers have been lumping on Trump to come undone, with thousands staked on him not completing his first term in office and to be impeached," spokesman Lewis Davey told Politico.
The website Bovada was less certain of Trump's impeachment, with a $130 bet paying $100 if Trump is still in office at the end of his first term. That same $100 will win you $350 if you bet Trump doesn't make it.
Though critics have called for Trump's impeachment, not even Democrats in Congress are making any such overtures at the moment. And with members of the president's own party running both houses of Congress, pure political odds wouldn't seem high, Politico noted.
