Fifty-eight percent of Americans believe the anonymous senior administration official, who authored a critical column in the New York Times about President Donald Trump, should come forward, a new CNN poll reveals.
Thirty percent of those polled say the person who wrote the column should not unmask. Eleven percent had no opinion.
Here are some of the poll highlights:
- 55 percent say it is inappropriate for an administration official to work against the agenda of the president, compared to 36 percent who say it is appropriate
- 13 percent believe most administration officials are working against the president; 59 percent say just some are and 17 percent say none are.
The poll, conducted September 6-9, surveyed 1,003 people. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.
