Citing the latest poll numbers, CNN's John King called President Obama's approval ratings "underwater" and "stuck in a rut."
Speaking on "New Day," King found few positives in the president's approval rating of 43 percent and disapproval rating of 53 percent in the most recent
CNN poll.

"We went through 12 different issues in the president’s approval rating, and he didn’t crack 50 [percent], he could not crack 50 on any of those," King said, adding that those numbers could be troubling for Democrats as the president's approval usually serves as the "North Star of a midterm election year."
National Journal columnist Ron Fournier, another guest on the show, suggested that most of Obama's disapproval comes from the economy and problems of credibility, while The Washington Post's Nia Malika-Henderson added that "people seem to think that he’s increasingly not an effective manager."
