Hillary Clinton's comments about possible ties between President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and Russian interference in the 2016 election are a "conspiracy theory" presented with no evidence, NBC reporter Andrea Mitchell said.
"She's drawing a conspiracy theory," Mitchell said Wednesday on "The Rachel Maddow Show."
Mitchell was referring to Clinton’s comments Wednesday at Recode's Code Conference.
"I take responsibility for every decision I make—but that's not why I lost," Clinton said at the conference, CNN reported.
"She said it was very clear to her that there were Americans directing and colluding, conspiring, really, with the Russian hackers, with Guccifer, with the others who were involved in the hacking,” Mitchell said.
"She’s basically pointing to the Trump campaign, saying that the dots are now being connected," Mitchell added.
Clinton "doesn't have the evidence … but she is obviously hoping that this is what Robert Mueller and what the congressional committees can do," Mitchell said.
The NBC reporter noted in a tweet that Clinton appeared to get the "last word" over the president Wednesday night.
