New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie isn’t averse to poking fun at his Republican counterparts — and that’s exactly what he did with Maine Gov. Paul LePage on Wednesday night.
During a town hall meeting in Montville, N.J., Christie was approached by an 8-year-old girl who said she had visited Maine last summer and had gifts for him from LePage.
“He gave you gifts to give to me?” Christie asked. “He’s crazy. I love Paul. He’s great.”
LePage’s gifts included a photo and a coin, according to The
Bangor Daily News.
The girl then quizzed Christie about his favorite part of being governor.
“[The] fun answer … When you’re governor, they close the Lincoln Tunnel for you,” he joked.
“I love going to New York now. I used to hate it.”
