New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's approval rating is at its lowest point since taking office — with a marked plunge right after he endorsed GOP presidential Donald Trump, a new poll shows.

The Fairleigh Dickinson University survey, released Wednesday, finds just 30 percent approve of the job Christie is doing as governor — matching his June 2015 low point — while 61 percent disapprove.

Overall, the poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.9 percent.

According to the survey — conducted before and after the Trump endorsement last week — the governor's approval rating sank from 33 percent pre-endorsement to 27 percent afterward.

That part of the survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percent.

"Christie's return to his roots after suspending his White House run was an opportunity to reestablish some good will with voters," Krista Jenkins, the poll director, said in a statement.

"But joining forces with Donald Trump was hardly a vehicle for getting voters to reconsider their sour mood toward the governor."

The survey finds the words voters used most often to describe Christie was "bully" followed by "arrogant."
