President Donald Trump has remade the "challenge coin" memento that commanders-in-chief have provided to guests for two decades.

On Trump's coin, the presidential seal has been replaced by an eagle bearing the president's signature, The Washington Post reported Friday.

The eagle’s head faces right, not left, as on the actual seal. In addition, the 13 arrows representing the original states have disappeared.

Further, the national motto, "E pluribus unum" — Latin for "Out of many, one" — is no longer on the coin.

But both sides of the coin feature Trump’s campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again" — and his name appears three times on the souvenir.

It also is "very gold," a White House aide told the Post.

"It’s beautifully made," the aide said.

Administration officials offered conflicting accounts of the cost of the coins, with one telling the Post that they were paid for by the White House and another later saying that the Republican National Committee covered their cost.

An RNC spokeswoman confirmed Friday that the committee was paying for the mementos.

"They’re going to be used in ways they haven’t been in the past," the second White House aide told the Post, possibly being handed out at campaign rallies and to donors.
