CBS News’ White House correspondent Weijia Jiang took a swipe at President Donald Trump in her pregnancy announcement, after a tense exchange the two had last week.
At a press conference last week, Jiang attempted to ask Trump if the sexual abuse allegations he’s faced have influenced his opinion of the accusations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanagh, according to The Hill. Trump told her to “sit down,” but Jiang continued to stand until the president answered her question.
"It does impact my opinion because I've had a lot of false charges made against me," Trump said. "I'm a very famous person, unfortunately. I've been a famous person for a long time."
In a tweet on Monday, Jiang announced that she and her husband are expecting a baby, noting that she was visibly pregnant during the press conference in which she questioned Trump.
She added that she “can’t wait to teach her [baby] when a man orders you to ‘sit down’ because he doesn’t like what you’re saying, do anything but.”
