President Donald Trump blasted California's "sanctuary policies," saying they put America's safety and security at risk.

His remarks came even as he was due to make his first visit to California since 2016.

Trump took to Twitter to criticize the state and said thousands of criminal aliens "are released as a result of sanctuary policies."

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has filed a lawsuit claiming California is protecting immigrants of violating the Constitution and endangering federal agents, The Washington Post noted.
