One of Brett Kavanaugh's accusers, brought forward by attorney Michael Avenatti, once faced her own misconduct lawsuit for a company she worked with years ago, according to The Oregonian.
Julie Swetnick, 55, who has alleged Kavanaugh was "present" at drunken sex parties where women were exploited, was reportedly sued for multiple allegations, including lying on her resume and engaging "in unwelcome sexual innuendo and inappropriate conduct," according to the report.
Swetnick misrepresented having graduated from John's Hopkins Unversity, a school the company, Webtrends, said had no record of her having attended, and she "falsely described her work experience" and "engaged in unwelcome, sexually offensive conduct," according to court documents.
Avenatti claimed the lawsuit, which was ultimately dismissed in 2000, was made in retaliation for Swetnick's claims of sexual harassment from two male employees, he told The Oregonian in an email.
Webtrends claimed there was no evidence to support Swetnick's allegations and added she fraudulently received unemployment benefits in Washington, D.C., while on medical leave from the Portland, Oregon, company.
Swetnick's Kavanaugh allegations presented by Avenatti have not been corroborated, and it has also been reported there was a restraining order filed against her by a former boyfriend.
Avenatti ripped President Donald Trump on Twitter on Saturday for not authorizing the investigation into Swetnick's allegations in the limited FBI probe this weekend.
"Trump has now determined that he and he alone will be the sole arbiter of whether a woman’s claims of sexual assault and misogyny are credible," he tweeted. "When and if we do, we will promptly disclose to them all information and witnesses in our possession. We continue to request this opportunity as we have been doing for days. My client is telling the truth and deserves to be heard and not shammed."
