President Donald Trump is "not backing down" from building a wall or strict law enforcement at the nation's border with Mexico, according to Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Trump's commitment to a core campaign promise on immigration is solid, Sessions told Wednesday's "The Laura Ingraham Show."

"He's still insisting we're going to build this wall, and he's not backing down from it," Sessions said. "And he's supported me and Homeland Security in stepping up in enforcement at the border 100 percent. And we're carrying out his agenda."

Sessions also weighed in on reported infighting between chief strategist Steve Bannon, and Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, in carrying out Trump's agenda.

"I'm an admirer of Steve Bannon and the Trump family, and they've been supportive of what we're doing," he said. "I've not felt any pushback against me on anything I've done or advocated."

According to Sessions, the White House shares his commitment to immigration enforcement and stricter border security.

"I think that's shared throughout the White House, and I don't believe anybody is going to object to that," he said.

Sessions visited the Arizona-Mexico border Tuesday, saying illegal immigrants should realize, "This is a new era. This is the Trump era."

He also urged federal prosecutors to intensify their focus on immigration crimes such as illegal border crossing or smuggling others into the United States.
