Hillary Clinton launched into a profanity-laced tirade at a fellow lawyer who called her "crazy" for insisting her new boyfriend Bill had the political chops to be president, excerpts from a new book by obtained by Newsmax reveal.

In Russell Riley's "Inside the Clinton White House: An Oral History," out next month from Oxford University Press, Bernard Nussbaum, a senior attorney on the House committee investigating Watergate, recalls giving the then-Hillary Rodham, who worked for him, a lift home.

"As I dropped her off, she says to me, 'You've got to come and meet my new boyfriend, tomorrow … His name is Bill Clinton. I went to Yale with him and he's from Arkansas,''' Nussbaum tells Riley.

"I said, ‘Oh great. What law firm is he with? She said, 'Actually, Bernie, he's going to run for office.' I said, 'Hillary, how old is he?' She says, 'He's twenty-eight … He's running for Congress in Arkansas … Then he's going to go on to be a senator or governor … Bernie, he's going to president of the United States.'"

The incredulous Nussbaum replied: "Hillary … I'm working with a bunch of idiots! They think their boyfriend is going to be president of the United States. These crazy people!"
But his flip response backfired.

"Hillary is a tough lady at the age of 26 … She looks at me and says, ‘You don't know a goddamn thing you're talking about. You're a blank. You're a blank.' She used a strong curse word that she uses … 'You're an a-------.' God, she started bawling me out," Nussbaum recalls in the book.

"I mean she worked for me on the staff but she's reacting to this. She walks out and slams the door on me and she storms into the building."

The next morning, Nussbaum says he apologized to Clinton and she said she was sorry for her outburst and then introduced him to Bill Clinton.

"He was a very nice guy. He was a handsome guy from Arkansas. I asked him. He said yes, he's going to run for office," recalls Nussbaum, who didn't question his goal because "I wasn't going to get into more fights with Hillary."

Nussbaum later when onto to become White House Counsel in the Clinton Administration.

Riley, an associate professor and co-chair of the Miller Center's Presidential Oral History Program, is one of the nation's leading presidential historians.
