Boehner urged freshman members to raise a lot of money during the first quarter in a private meeting Tuesday at GOP campaign headquarters,
Roll Call reports.
Boehner told the 87 first-timers he will closely examine their March 31 filings with the Federal Election Commission to make sure they’re raising a lot of cash.
“I know you’re also being asked to raise funds for the dinner, but your campaign accounts in the first and second quarter go a long way in determining your opposition,” Boehner told members, according to a GOP aide with knowledge of the speech.
