President Donald Trump early Monday posted a series of tweets ridiculing journalist Bob Woodward's book about his administration and vowing he will "write the real book" when it comes to his presidency.
He also spoke out about the nation's GDP, noting, at 4.2 percent, it is "higher than the Unemployment rate (3.9 percent) for the first time in over 100 years!"
The Woodward book, "Fear: Trump in the White House" is a "joke," Trump declared.
"Just another assault against me, in a barrage of assaults, using now disproven, unnamed, and anonymous sources," Trump said. "Many have already come forward to say the quotes by them, like the book, are fiction. Dems can't stand losing. I'll write the real book!"
Later in the morning, he retweeted his Sept. 7 tweet labeling the Woodward book as a "scam."
"I don't talk the way I am quoted," he tweeted. "If I did, I would not have been elected president. These quotes were made up. The author uses every trick in the book to demean and belittle. I wish the people could see the real facts – and our country is doing GREAT!"
The White House, added Trump in another tweet, is a "'smooth running machine.' We are making some of the biggest and most important deals in our country's – with many more to come! The Dems are going crazy!"
Trump also quoted Karen Caralle, of The Washington Examiner, who has said she is taking Woodward's book with a "grain of salt."
"'I'm taking this book with a grain of salt & everyone should do the same,'" Trump posted, quoting Caralle. "'Multiple sources, but almost every one of them has come out and discredited the claims made by Woodward. You cannot take this book too seriously.'"
Trump also tweeted a comment, if he had lost in 2016, the GDP, "which was about 1 percent and going down, would have been minus 4 percent instead of up 4.2 percent. I opened up our beautiful economic engine with Regulation and Tax Cuts. Our system was choking and would have been made worse. Still plenty to do!"
Later in the morning, another Trump tweet said:
"The Economy is soooo good, perhaps the best in our country's history (remember, it's the economy stupid!), that the Democrats are flailing & lying like CRAZY! Phony books, articles, and T.V. 'hits' like no other pol has had to endure – and they are losing big. Very dishonest people!"
