Michael Bloomberg has rejoined two clubs he quit in 2001 because he'd then objected to their exclusion of women and minorities, Huffington Post reported.

In 2014, the New York Post reported Bloomberg had rejoined the Century Club, a predominantly white club in Purchase, N.Y. He also put his children up for membership, The Post reported at the time.

Huffington Post reported Thursday that Bloomberg also rejoined The Brook club, an elite social club in midtown Manhattan that’s widely reported to be a men’s-only club.

As long as The Brook and similar clubs keep their membership under 400, they are able to avoid nondiscrimination laws and bar women, according to HuffPost. The club denied it, the news site reported.

“My understanding is also that The Brook club has female members and people of color as members today, at some point in the past they were male only,” Stu Loeser, a campaign spokesman for Bloomberg, told HuffPost.

Loeser also told the HuffPost Bloomberg is still a member at the Century Country Club, which was founded by Jewish men in the mid-1800s, but now accepts female members though the majority are reportedly white.

At the time Bloomberg quit the Century Country Club, The Brook, Racquet and Tennis Club and the Harmonie Club, he said they were not diverse enough for him to keep his membership, The New York Times reported

Loeser told HuffPost that Bloomberg rejoined both the Century Country Club and The Brook after he left office in 2013, claiming the Century Country Club had become more diverse.
