Mike Bloomberg’s campaign has been sharing internal polling information with Democrats that shows the House majority would be in jeopardy if Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., captures the party’s presidential nomination, The Hill is reporting.

The campaign reportedly surveyed voters in 42 districts where lawmakers are part of a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s program that defends incumbents facing tough re-election campaigns.

The Hill, attributing the information to Bloomberg campaign manager Kevin Sheekey, said the poll puts Trump’s favorability at 47%, compared to a 49% negative rating. It reported Sanders has a 38% positive rating and a negative rating of 53%.

Forty-seven percent reportedly said that “the increased role of socialist ideas in the Democratic Party” is a bad thing, while 19% described it as a good.

And 39% -- a plurality of voters -- said they would be less likely to vote for a House Democrat if Sanders wins the nomination, The Hill reported. Thirty-four percent said it would have no impact. Twenty-one percent said they’d be more likely to cast their ballots for Democrats.

“Sanders is less popular than Trump, loses significant support when attacked for his socialist positions, and will negatively impact these vulnerable Democrats if he heads the top of the Democratic ticket,” Sheekey wrote.

The Sanders campaign did not respond to The Hill’s request for comment.

Meanwhile, a Siena College poll released Monday, shows Bloomberg is the leading candidate for president in the state of New York, but most voters believe Trump will be re-elected.
