A focus group in Pittsburgh, including some people who voted for President Donald Trump, expressed disappointment in his leadership, according to NBC News.
The group consisted of 12 voters, including five who cast ballots for Trump last year, the network news said. It was conducted by pollster Peter Hart on behalf of Emory University. Hart is a Democratic pollster who coordinates the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll.
The focus group participants called Trump "outrageous," "dishonest," "disappointing" "narcissistic," "an abject disappointment," "unique," "not ready to be president," "crazy" and "contemptible," according to NBC News.
"What most disappoints me is he's such an incredibly flawed individual who has articulated so many of the values that I hold dear," said Tony Sciullo, a Trump voter. "The messenger is overwhelming the message."
Brian Rush, another Trump supporter, is still holding out hope the president will improve.
"You have a job to do," said Rush. "No matter what job you have, who you are, people are going to doubt you. Understand that and keep going forward."
But Hart noted: "He's supposed to be the voice of hope. What everybody said, either directly or indirectly, was that his presidency is about him and it's not about us."
Meanwhile, Trump is planning to return to Texas on Saturday to see the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, The Hill reported. Trump had visited the state on Tuesday.
