Republican Bill Lee's commanding lead over Democrat Karl Dean in the red state of Tennessee shown through his 13-point edge in the latest Emerson College poll.
Lee, a seventh general Tennessean and former cattle farmer, drew 54 percent of likely voters to Dean's 41 percent, with just 3 percent undecided. A poll from The New York Times had Lee a whopping 26 points ahead (569-33 percent).
Tennessee's governor race is listed "likely GOP" in the RealClear Politics analysis, perhaps because of the time President Donald Trump has spent in the state.
President Trump has actively campaigned for Republicans there, and the president is popular in Tennessee, with a 54 percent favorable rating, according to the poll.
Emerson College polled 632 likely voters in Tennessee between Oct. 28-30, and the poll results have a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
