Joe Biden’s national press secretary refused to say whether the Democratic presidential nominee used a teleprompter to answer questions during a campaign event.
During a Thursday appearance on Fox News’ “Special Report,” TJ Ducklo avoided answering questions from host Bret Baier about Biden using a teleprompter.
"Has Joe Biden ever used a teleprompter during local interviews or to answer Q&As with supporters?” Baier asked the Biden aide.
Ducklo responded by deflecting. He claimed the question was “straight from the Trump campaign talking points.”
He said all the question does is “distract the American people” before Baier cut him off asking for a yes or no response.
"They talk about it every day, Bret, because they don't have a coherent strategy ... they talk about it every day because they don't have a coherent argument for why Donald Trump deserves reelection, deserves four more years," Ducklo continued. "We know that he lied to the American people. We know that he has not shown leadership during this crisis and they are desperate to throw anything they can against the wall to try to distract from that fact."
“I understand, but you can’t answer the question,” Baier responded.
Ducklo told Baier he wouldn’t allow the Trump campaign to "funnel their questions through Fox News and get me to respond to that."
Baier’s question comes after a video of Biden surfaced this week where he can be heard asking his staff to move a teleprompter during a virtual question-and-answer session with AFL-CIO members.
"Move it up here," Biden said to someone off camera before answering the question.
