Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke said Thursday that he would sign the Equality Act into law to "guarantee the full civil right of every single American, including every member of the LGBTQ community."

"Only then, are we gonna realize who we are as a country — and only then can we lead on the global stage on important issues of human rights," O'Rourke, the former Texas congressman, told the Presidential Town Hall sponsored by Newsmax and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

He slammed President Donald Trump because he "dehumanizes those who come here seeking refuge and asylum in this country."
