Impeachment-seeking Democrats like Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and a whistleblower tied to Democrats have exposed the impeachment inquiry as an attempted presidential "coup," according to former NYPD Commissioner Bernie Kerik on Newsmax TV.
"He lied about having contact with the whistleblower; everything he says is a lie just to promote this anti-Trump rhetoric and this intended coup," Kerik told Monday's "Newsmax Now" of House Intelligence Chairman Schiff, who admitted he "should have been much more clear" about pre-complaint contact with the whistleblower and is under fire for making up a "parody" of President Donald Trump's phone call with Ukraine before his committee and the American people.
"And that's what this is all about. This is an attempted coup on the president of the United States that was constitutionally elected to office and they're trying to remove him."
Kerik also pointed to Democrats now not even seeking public testimony from the president's accuser, which was the basis for the impeachment inquiry.
"The Democrats' case is supposedly all about the whistleblower, so if you're not going to hear from him or her, what are we doing here?" Kerik asked.
As for the latest attacks and investigations into attorney Rudy Giuliani, it is part and parcel to the impeachment coup, which had its beginning before Trump was even sworn in, according to Kerik.
"What happened to Giuliani shouldn't surprise anybody," Kerik told host John Bachman. "They went after the president, they went after the president's family, his children, they've gone after the president's staff and colleagues, they've gone after everybody – the president's friends and supporters – now they've gone after the president's attorney.
"It shouldn't surprise anybody. It's a part of what they've been doing since before the man took office."
