Obama Fears Biden, Dems Will Lose in 2024

By    |   Sunday, 17 December 2023 08:43 AM EST

With an official impeachment inquiry and an indictment of his son — along with potential charges coming from Hunter Biden defying House GOP subpoena — President Joe Biden has a rough year ahead of him.

And it has former President Barack Obama concerned, The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday.

In fact, a source close to Obama told the Journal that Obama "feels that Democrats very well could lose" the 2024 election, and regardless, he "knows this is going to be a close race."

The source also used what former President Donald Trump called "the threat to democracy hoax" in saying Obama fears "the alternative is pretty dangerous for democracy."

But Trump preempted that attack in a Durham, New Hampshire, rally Saturday.

"Remember this: Joe Biden is a threat to democracy," Trump told his rally in a speech that aired live and in its entirety on Newsmax. "He's a threat."

Trump frequently taunts the "fake news media" in his praise of dictators, and Saturday's was as pointed as ever.

"Even Vladimir Putin — has anybody ever heard of Vladimir Putin of Russia? — says that Biden is, and this is a quote: 'The politically motivated persecution of his political rival is very good for Russia because it shows the rottenness of the American political system, which cannot pretend to teach others about democracy,'" Trump told his crowd. "So you know we talk about democracy, but the whole world is watching the persecution of a political opponent that's kicking his a**.

"It's an amazing thing. And they're all laughing at us."

Trump also rebuked Biden as the "worst, most incompetent, and most corrupt president in the history of our country."

"Joe Biden is a low-IQ individual," Trump said. "He is truly the worst, most incompetent, and most corrupt president in the history of our country.

"But with your vote in this election, together we're going to save America and we're going to bring our country back from hell. It's in hell. In hell. Not one thing has gotten better under crooked Joe Biden."

Even Democrats are in agreement Biden has a rough election year ahead.

"I want the president to do better," Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, told the Journal, "because that affects everybody."

Democrat strategist Simon Rosenberg wants to see more urgency from the White House.

"The general election is going to come quicker than we all expected," Rosenberg told the Journal. "I think it's just time for the Biden campaign to turn on fully.

"There’s something more powerful in our discourse, in our daily politics, than disappointment in Joe Biden and the Democrats — and that's fear and opposition to MAGA."

Trump continually mocks liberals and Biden for that latter statement, saying they do not truly know what MAGA (Make America Great Again) means when they say that.

Trump asks in jest, "they really mean not to make America great?"
