With calls growing for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., to take on Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for a seat in the Senate, President Donald Trump weighed in by suggesting she could beat him.

"Actually, that would be a big improvement - and she would win!" Trump tweeted late Sunday night in response to a Washington Times story on the subject.

Ocasio-Cortez knocked out Rep. Joe Crowley in the 2018 primary and went on to win his former seat in November of that year. She represents New York's 14th Congressional District, which includes parts of The Bronx and Queens.

It was reported over the weekend that Ocasio-Cortez has spent $6.3 million on her reelection campaign, more than any other House Democrat seeking another term in office this year.
